Two’s Tale

A curious tale was in the making
Not of one,
But of two
Two who couldn’t be together
Two who parted ways

The night, veiled in darkness
Said to the open lit day
Illuminate my being
In my mystique, I obliterate
With a broken smile, day replied
Give me a blanket
To hide away

Excitement, aroused to his bones
Said to sombre boredom
Steady my spirit
My mind lies to waste
With a deliberated thought, boredom replied
Find me a new moment
To ponder and play

Silence, in his monotonous make up
Said to symphony adorned in intricate attire
Transform me into something beautiful
I start to stale
The unceasing symphony repliedLend me a halt, a break
To breathe, to sway

Order, the master of control
Said to nonchalant anarchy
Loosen me up
My palms ache pulling on reins
Disoriented anarchy replied
Show me the path from which
To go astray

Crippling doubt
said to faith, blessed with sturdy feet
Reassure me of your conviction
I worry for my fate
With a wise grin, faith replied
Give me a sound reason
To not stagnate

Death, in his nothingness
said to life, in his entirety
Give me your all,
I long to possess, to accumulate
Overflowing life replied
Give me a chance to lose everything
to gather it back all, in another way

Two couldn’t be together
Two couldn’t be apart
To exist as one
two needed each other
to help them find their own way
